Blue Stars

KAYAKING & SNORKELING TOUR

ANG THONG NATIONAL MARINE PARK

Blue Stars Kayaking on Koh Samui has operated excursions with kayaking, snorkeling and sightseeing to the nearby Marine Park in the Gulf of Thailand, since 1997.

The participants of the day tour get a unique opportunity to get up close to the magnificent natural wonders, such as caves, tunnels and lagoons underneath and inside the islands of the Park by kayak.

The kayaking day tour consists of 2 kayak sessions in the day as well as sightseeing at the Island Koh Mae Koh and snorkeling at the area of Koh Tai Plao. We are the only tour that will visit the spectacular northern region of Koh Tai Plao, where you explore caves, tunnels and hidden lagoons by kayak.

An amazing and unique experience you will never forget!

Ang Thong Marine Park Tour

YOUR ADVENTURE BEGINS…

To the northwest of Koh Samui, there are some 42 islets and islands strewn across the sea, just waiting to be discovered. Picture perfect scenery with dozens of deserted beaches, bizarre rock formations, and calm blue waters.

The day starts early but it’s relaxed all the way. An air-conditioned minibus will collect you from your hotel and transfer you to the Nathon pier. Here you will be met by our guides and the team who will welcome you onboard our 23 meters fully equipped tour boat. As you depart you’ll enjoy a light breakfast and your guide will give a briefing on the day’s activities together with making you familiar with the boat’s features.

Blue Stars has a fleet of the world’s most popular recreational sit-on-top kayaks, the Malibu II manufactured by Ocean Kayak. Easy to use and extremely stable, each kayak can take two adults or two adults and one small child.

The first location on this Ang Thong Tour to visit is in the remote far north of the Park at Koh Tai Plao. This area is the best location for kayaking with some amazing rock overhangs, tunnels, small caves, and a hidden lagoon to explore. And we are normally the only operator to visit this location so it is extremely peaceful. Each kayak is provided with a dry bag so you can take your camera with you to take some great shots. Our guides are also happy to help take some nice photos of you kayaking. After experiencing the stunning beauty of this location up close by kayak you’ll have the opportunity to take a dip in the inviting calm waters. Snorkel, swim, or take the plunge and jump from the boat.

Time to enjoy a great lunch on board as you cruise through the Park heading to the second stop at Koh Mae Ko, the island with a relatively short but quite steep climb to a viewing platform where you’ll witness the breathtaking sight of the Emerald Lake.

The final stop is the main island of Koh Wua Talap where you will have the option of enjoying one of several activities. Choose to explore this area by kayak and circumnavigate the small adjacent island then return and relax on the beach. The second option if you are up for it and are of a moderate to high level of fitness you can choose to make the climb to the viewpoint where you will be rewarded with an amazing vista of the entire Park. A definite photo opportunity here! Another opportunity you may opt for is to make the trek to the stunning Bua Bok Cave with its’ monumental stalagmites and stalactites. For those who prefer to simply relax, the pristine beach here is a great spot to get some sun or you can find shade under one of the many palm trees.

Time to head back to Koh Samui, the team will provide some fresh fruit and a snack while you relax for the journey home. Flake out in a beanbag, get some shade or strike up a conversation with a new friend about the amazing day you’ve just experienced.
